App Privacy Policy

The BGG app is developed and operated by JEM Drafting & Design for Baez Geotechnical Group. This policy covers the mobile app (iOS and Android) only. For the JEM Drafting & Design website, see our website privacy policy.

BGG is an internal tool for Baez Geotechnical Group employees and requires an account issued by the company. It cannot be used without one.

What the app collects

Email address and name — your account, and to attribute reports, schedules and timecards to you.

Precise location (GPS) — only while you are using the app, to fill in a report's site coordinates and to place compaction tests on the project map. Photographs taken in the app may carry the location where they were taken. The app does not track your location in the background.

Photos and files — photographs and documents you attach to a report.

Microphone audio — only when you start voice dictation on a boring log. Speech is converted to text and the recording is not kept.

Report content — everything you enter into a report: project numbers, measurements, notes, sketches, hours worked and mileage.

Device identifier — a per-device identifier so notifications reach the right phone.

The app does not collect contacts, calendars, health data, financial information or browsing history, and it contains no advertising.

Where it goes

Data is stored on your device and in Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging) under a project operated by JEM Drafting & Design on behalf of Baez Geotechnical Group. Google processes this data as a service provider.

We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and the app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Reports and their contents are visible to you and to administrators at Baez Geotechnical Group. Finished reports may be sent to the clients they were prepared for, which is the purpose of the work.

We disclose information only where required by law, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

How long it is kept

Reports and their attachments are business records and are retained for as long as the company needs them. Account information is kept while your account is active. Drafts stored on a device are removed when the app is uninstalled.

Your choices

Camera, photos, location, microphone and notifications are all permissions your phone asks you for, and you can refuse or later revoke any of them in the device's Settings. The app keeps working without them; the features that need them stop.

To see, correct or delete the personal data held about you, email the address below. If you leave the company, your account is disabled and your access ends. Reports you filed remain company records.

Children

BGG is a workplace tool for employees. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
